Details: Electrical engineer needed with 2-8 years experience with a broad, fundamental understanding of basic analog and digital circuit design, RF test and measurement techniques, and data analysis tools.   This position will contribute to the following efforts:  Technical analysis efforts on existing high power transmitters for radar systems or other electronic warfare systems such as jammers; Design and build high-power radar transmitter and high-voltage, high-power electronic hardware; and Frequency synthesizer design, direct digital synthesis, low phase noise, and RF exciter design. The engineer will be required to work independently as well as with system and hardware engineers to perform the above functions.  The analysis efforts will require a strong understanding of communications systems and controls theory.  Radar transmitter hardware development efforts will include the design and integration of electrical and electro-mechanical hardware including cabling, circuit boards, and multiple hardware assemblies into complex systems.  Radar transmitters typically utilize vacuum tube devices such as traveling wave tubes (TWTs) and klystrons as high-power microwave amplifiers.  Entry-level candidates are not expected to have direct experience with these devices; however an interest in working with devices producing 100’s of kilowatts of RF power and power supplies producing 10’s of kilovolts is essential.  Also, any experience with vacuum tubes for high-voltage power supplies and modulators, such as triodes, tetrodes, thyratrons and triggered spark gaps, is a plus. The engineer will be required to develop custom hardware to test and evaluate high-voltage and/or high-power electronic hardware.  Therefore, some experience with circuit modeling and simulation tools is desired. The engineer will be expected to create and maintain appropriate documentation for the hardware development and effectively communicate this information to other team members and to customers.  TO APPLY: Email cover letter and resume to
